The new version of our metrology software TouchDMIS 6.1 SP2 has been released ; here are the main new features:

PH20 head utilization optimization

Integrated PH20 positions and movements: a new icon allows you to select from the main page how to use the PH20.

Now the model of the transparent PH20 will preview the measurement path .

The circular-path strategy is now possible for vertical planes using the touch probe in a fixed position.

In addition, negative angles were added. 

Z volume optimization of the CMM

Machine model definition has been optimized: the Z offset of the table model can be determined in manual mode during setup .

If the table offset value is unknown, it can now be detected with a calibrated probe in the CMM model settings. 

Cone extraction from a point cloud

Cone extraction from a point cloud has been implemented: the cone is defined by 3 parameters: search radius, start and end height .

Now the nominal values can be retrieved from the CAD model. The cone area is determined from 4 points taken as two parallel lines of the cone axis. 

Point cloud management

Users can now remove unnecessary data from a point cloud. In this way, the results of extraction, filtering or meshing are saved, and point cloud data can be deleted according to the user's future needs. 

Calibration localization directly from the code

From this version it is possible to perform calibration sphere localization (Reset Caliber) by running previously saved programs. 

New meshing, map and point cloud tools

New powerful meshing algorithms, threshold distance and settable parameters. Point cloud integration: 

  • Best fit: a point cloud scan can be BestFit aligned to the CAD model from any position. In many cases, manual pre-alignment is not necessary. Now, the area of the point cloud that does not match the CAD model is ignored, thus including all points that match the CAD model itself. 
  • Filter integration: new filters allow parts of point clouds to be excluded by polygonal selection, plane selection and noise. 
  • Deviation from a point in the point cloud: a geometric element Point can be obtained from a point cloud, a mesh, a curve element or a surface element also detected by probing. The deviation can be shown in the 3D view, previewed in the report or in the graphical report as a pane. 
New laser tracker API interface and tracker API functions.

The tracker window has been replaced by a new toolbar, where you can find all the tools you need in one window. 

New functions for the tracker API: 

  • Plane level: generation of a water (?) plane level in the measurement session, with automatic saving. 
  • Hole measurement from a point: the position of the hole on the plane can be measured from a point taken when the SMR is placed inside the hole. 

New remote control shortcutsadded 

Management of user profiles

Added user profile management. There are now 3 user profiles with different privileges: Administrator, Power User and Program Runner. 

Comments Text to speech

TouchDMIS displays a list of text-to-speech words available on Windows 10. Strings in TEXT/OPER, TEXT/MAN and PROMPT/TEXT and ELEMENTS NAME are read using Windows while the DMIS program is running. 

Other languages can be important from the Control Panel of the Windows text to specch 

TouchDMIS Simulator

Now, the TouchDMIS simulator and offline licensing have been re-implemented.

Users no longer need to configure hardware to switch to simulation. The simulator is accessible by switching to offline CMM communication and available for all TTP configurations (except I++ configuration).
